Privacy Policy

Who we are

Ledgaa is operated by House of Udu Tech Limited. We build tools that help small business owners understand and prove their numbers without requiring accounting training. This privacy policy applies to the Ledgaa platform at ledgaa.abrahamudu.com and all related services.

What we collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide the service:

• Account information: Your email address, full name, and business name, which you provide during registration.
• Business records: Sales, expenses, customer names, product names, stock levels, and payment records that you enter through conversation or import. These belong to you.
• Payment information: When you pay for a plan, we receive transaction references and payment status from Paystack or Flutterwave. We do not store card numbers, bank details or payment tokens on our servers.
• Usage data: Basic interaction data (which pages you visit, which features you use) to improve the product. This does not include the content of your business records.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide the Ledgaa service: recording, tracking, and reporting your business activity.
• Send you important service messages: subscription confirmations, payment receipts, and notifications about your account.
• Improve the product: understanding which features are used and where the experience can be better.
• Protect against fraud and abuse: detecting unusual account activity.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information or business data to third parties.

How your business data is processed

When you type a message into Ledgaa, the system processes it to understand and record your transaction. For most messages, this processing happens on our own servers and the data goes no further.

When a message is unusual enough that our system cannot understand it from existing patterns, that specific message is sent to a language model (currently Groq) along with the names of your products and customers so it can recognise them. No balances, no transaction history, and no amounts you did not just type are sent. The language model provider does not retain your data after processing.

Who can see your data

Your business data is private to your account. The only exception is when you choose to share it:

• Shareable business profiles: If you create a share link, the business owner (you) controls what period and what data is visible. The link shows revenue, expenses, profit, receivables ageing and top items for the period you choose. Customer names are never included. You can revoke the link at any time.
• Administrator access: Ledgaa administrators can access your account for support purposes only, and every such access is logged.

How we protect your data

• All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
• Passwords are hashed using secure, industry-standard algorithms. We never see or store your plain-text password.
• Administrative access is restricted, logged and audited.
• We do not log, print or expose customer email addresses, payment information or personally identifiable information in our own systems.

How long we keep your data

Your account and business data are kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed from our active systems within 30 days. Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days for disaster recovery purposes.

On the Free plan, only 30 days of transaction history is visible at a time, but the underlying data is retained for as long as your account exists.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access all the data we hold about you and your business.
• Export your data in CSV format at any time from the Dashboard.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Revoke any share link you have created at any time.

Payments and third-party providers

Ledgaa uses Paystack and Flutterwave to process online payments. When you make a payment, you are interacting with their secure payment page. We receive only the transaction reference, amount, and status. We do not receive or store your card number, bank account details or payment credentials.

Both Paystack and Flutterwave have their own privacy policies governing how they handle payment data.

Cookies

Ledgaa uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. This cookie is essential for the service to function and contains no tracking or advertising code.

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or third-party tracking scripts.

Children's privacy

Ledgaa is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email or through a notice in the application.
